Blockmania’s new look

I’ve made some good progress with Blockmania the last couple of days. I’ve replaced the lighting model with a smooth ambient occlusion based model and added basic support for biomes. And the terrain now has a much less abstract look… At the moment the terrain generator produces some hilly snow regions, a flat desert and the well known forest region. I’ve also added support for different forms of blocks, so water blocks can be lower than normal blocks and special blocks like cacti can be rendered.
